ad on Craiggers...

This is a pretty rare car. Between us and the previous owner it has been in dry storage for the past 25 years. It has never seen salt on the roads or sat under a pine tree. It is true RUSTFREE car, No Rust in the floors , quarters, doors, roof , drip rails NO RUST. We really thought this car would be restored for our own collection, but it is not in the cards right now and between us and the last owner all we have done is use up garage space. The car needs a complete restoration but none I`ve seen at this price would be a better car to start with. It has the original 401 nail head 325HP V8 and automatic tranny. The previous owner had the engine running years ago when he put it into storage but has not ran in years. It does turn over and the engine and transmission oil looks good. The car has all original interior ( 2 tone blue ) Original gauges and speedometer that reads 69100 miles. Power steering and Power brakes. The outer paint is original light blue, thin in spots but No bondo or repair spots that have been done. the trunk has the original hounds tooth liner, jack, lug wrench, spare and hold downs. The glass is all nice tinted EZ-I original glass, no cracks and very nice chrome outer trim. The chrome grill, front bumper, headlight doors and trim are all nice with No pitting . The windshield is broke and will need replaced, 3 or 4 side stainless pieces are missing ( there a couple of 4 door ones in the trunk). The hood chrome bar is missing and we have only one original hubcap. But other than that I think the car must be about 98% complete. the Cowl tags reads : Style 59-4637, Trim 611, Body BC667 and paint JJ. If you are serious about restoring one of the rarest and most solid unrestored cars around this is it. It has a Clear Oregon title in my name. call me at 541-788-5756.

Guest repliedUsually I prefer single lights(mostly 57 as opposed to 58), but on your car, I like the quads, Danny.

CJ, I apologize for the non-Buick content.
Nope, it was a '58 Belvedere in Toreador Red and Iceberg White with stainless Sportone trim. The '58 Fury only came in Buckskin Beige with gold trim all over it and brown interior (yuck). Yes I know what Steven King wrote with the special order crap and yes I am well aware of all the red/white cars that come up when you Google '58 Fury. But there was never a red/white Fury from the factory.Originally posted by 76 Maverick View PostChristine was a 58 plymouth fury......
For '57, these Mopars were only available with single headlights:Originally posted by Jimbo View PostDoes yours have the dual headlights like the 57(?) below?
- all Plymouths
- all Dodges
- DeSoto Firesweeps
- all Plodges (the generic name for Canadian or export Mopars that used the Dodge frames, engines, and front sheetmetal on Plymouth/DeSoto/Chrysler cars)
For '57, these Mopars came standard with single headlights but had optional dual headlights:
- DeSoto Firedome, Fireflite
- Chrysler Windsor, Saratoga, New Yorker
For '57, these Mopars came standard with dual headlights:
- DeSoto Adventurer
- Chrysler 300
In '58, the few states that had outlawed dual headlights relaxed their laws. That's why nearly all 1958 American cars have quads, including the Mopars.
My car has the duals. I don't like the bug-eye look of the singles anyway, but different strokes for different folks.

Pretty sure Danny's has dual headlights. Iirc, there were Canadian cars that had the front half of a Plymouth and the rear of a Chrysler, or vice-versa, so maybe you are thinking of one of those.Originally posted by Jimbo View PostThose cars have beautiful dimensions. I am well aware. I've owned a 57 Chevy. Inside joke from when some guy at a gas station told Danny his 57 Plymouth wagon was a 57 chevy.

But good ones are getting more rare by the day, as with all '50s 60s cars. At some point you gotta pay to play.
PS - I paid a little less for my Chrysler hardtop but it needs everything. A running driving car is usually worth ~3 times what the same car in non-running condition will fetch.

Literally busted laughing out loud at the Christine comment. Nice 57 Chevy, Danny!

I like "your" car as a 2 door for sure, I just love the looks of that ole Mopar... 59 Caddy vert (3000 Miles from Graceland-esq) would fucken rock too, but probably 5-10 x what the Buick will cost.Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostHow DARE you! This is my thread damnit!
haha, I like the '59 lesabre, I think it's dead sexy and has a look like no other car. But I dig Danny's ride also, plenty of love to go around.

That said, the black one for 8500 seems like a good deal, esp since he says its an all original car... dont think you will find a nicer driver for less imo.
