It's crazed quite a bit from sitting outside, but I compounded a few spots tonight and the shine came right back. She'll end up getting a repaint after I get the rust issues worked out. The Welds buffed out to look like chrome though (well, one of them did, that shit is hard work! LOL!).Originally posted by Cooter View Postdon't fuck with the paint. that car will buff out awesome

What was once greatness, has faded with the Texas sun over the years. The new decal set is in hand already though, it was the first part I ordered after I decided to buy the car.Originally posted by 71chevellejohn View PostCome on man - We need a good pic of the greatness that is the hood decal!

I also own a 85 RS that is bone stock( still has stock mufflers ) and an 86 RS that is a LONG way from stock. The 85 is for sale if you know any Capri lovers. Good luck with your project and I hope it turns out the way you dreamed it would be as a kid.Originally posted by SonicblueGT03 View PostMostly because it's something I wanted when I was younger, and it's not another Fox. I've had enough of them for a while, but I do still have my '85 RS in the driveway too.

Test fitting the '83 netted halo seats
OK, it's cold here, and nothing can kill motivation faster than laying on cold concrete! LOL! I did manage to strip the old carpet out (which in turn means the seats, seat belts, and center console had to come out too). It was wet and would surely have mildewed badly, so it's on the trash pile.
I figured since the seats were already out, they should be tossed out as well, and since I scored a decent (drivers side needs to be recovered) set of '83 GT netted halo seats locally (thanks again Robert!), now would be the time to test fit them. Turned out to be the easiest project I've ever done on a car. Swap the seat rails from the '78 on to the '83 seats, and bolt them in the car. That's it. The difference in comfort, and seating position, has to be felt to be believed. Ford couldn't have made a crappier seat if they tried.
Pics of the drivers side for now, it's getting colder, and I'm done for the day.

Gotta love Craigslist!
Found a guy on CL who had parted out a few Mustang II's and had some goodies left over. He was losing his storage building and needed to move these quickly, not a bad haul for $100! Just wish I would have found him sooner, since 2 people had picked through them before me. ANd yes, that am/fm/8 track is going back in the car!
