Those damn things blow headgaskets like crazy. I had 3 of them repo because of that. They all sold between $600-1500 at auction. Every used car GM told me they wouldn't touch them because they are too much of a liability. Serious wheeler keep dreaming, halfway decent roll over prone wheeler, already done."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

I think they're very capable 4x4's but they're a maintenance headache. They pop headgaskets right and left drop cylinder sleeves and all sorts of shit. Our local dealer usually carries more service loaners than new rover suvs....Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostThose damn things blow headgaskets like crazy. I had 3 of them repo because of that. I like how most bash a vehicle they've never owned or wrenched on. I've driven my 03 D2 since it was new. I've got 145K on the clock, and it's the best vehicle I've ever owned.
If you can learn how to maintain them and turn a wrench, they're great vehicles.

Lol you must like turning wrenches. Ive had a few land rovers and several british cars, esprits, range rover, d2, defender 90. LOTS of wrenching.Originally posted by Gaber View PostI like how most bash a vehicle they've never owned or wrenched on. I've driven my 03 D2 since it was new. My experience comes from financing them, and having 3 of them repo because they blew head gaskets. That is incredible lack of reliability. So much so that about 70% of lenders do not finance them any longer, because they are so unreliable. That really speaks volumes about the company and their product. That and you can't get shit for them at auction, every used car dealer avoids them. They were walking away like the plague.Originally posted by Gaber View PostI like how most bash a vehicle they've never owned or wrenched on. I've driven my 03 D2 since it was new. In the last year, the only wrench I've turned was to drain the oil & filter. My 03 D2. Still rollin. It's just normal upkeep. Most owners don't maintain them, and have problems later on.Originally posted by onemeangixxer7502 View PostLol you must like turning wrenches.
