Not on a dyno like TS in STD smoothing 3. A real dynojet using SAE correction factor smoothing 5.

      • I'm biased, but a fully loaded GT500 (without mark-up) is the same price as a new $73k CTS-V with current market discounts/incentives. The Mustang is obviously faster than a V, but man paying $65k+ for a Mustang when you can have a fully loaded CTS-V for the same price is a little hard to swallow for me. I guess it just depends on how you plan to use the Mustang or V for what would be better overall.

The Mustang fully loaded is about $10k more than the ZL1 as almost everything is standard on the ZL1. I really like the GT500, but not sure if it's worth $10k more than a ZL1. I guess it is to those that are going to buy the GT500. haha.

You're stuck on the label of "Mustang" and the stereotype in your head rather than seeing the car for what it is now. The car is a vast improvement over any past Mustang in history, it's not even the same car from 2012 with all of the improvements it has for 2013. To get the same amout of power and handling in a car you would have to spend nearly $100k more!

I'd suggest to you to watch a few of the SVT Engineers videos and read some of the articles available explaining everything. It's amazing what they have done with just a "Mustang". lol.

As for the CTS-V, not everyone is into them. I personally wouldn't want a four door for a hobby car and the two door CTS-V's look okay, but I much prefer the GT500's look over the V's.

          • Show me a comparison of these two cars in show room condition with the tires, tune etc exactly as they come when you buy one, then I will be impressed. All these pre release numbers are just crap. Both are incredible machines and deserve a certain amount of respect. Look how far cars have come in just the last 5 yrs.. simply incredible...

See bold above. Huh? Have you heard of the ZR1 and new Viper? They would WIPE the floor with the GT500 both at the drag strip and road course, especially the road course. Both cars are roughly $35k more than the GT500 in real-world street prices. Pricing hasn't been announced in the Viper, but it's supposed to be around $100k. You can get new loaded ZR1's all day long for $100k.

Again, the GT500 is a bada** ride and I wouldn't mind having one in addition to my Vette and Caddy, but it's not the second coming of sports cars or anything. It's an improved '05 Mustang platform with a heavily boosted 5.8L block at it's base.

                • Real world numbers coming in at anytime now. There is someone on a dyno right now with a brand new 13 Gt500 with only a hundred miles on it. The same dyno had a stock ZL1 on it yesterday that made 465/457.

Whatever. I'm going to buy one and rape everything in your garage. Better get your dog out of there or he will get it too.

I understand your viewpoint on it. But it's really the only way you can compare the cars fairly when they are stock. Otherwise, it's just a spending contest.

ZL1, GT500, Vettes or Vipers, doesn't matter. It's pretty damn good time to be a car guy.

                            • Mines being built June 11. I'll take it straight from the dealer to the strip if anybody has a stock ZL1 they wanna put it against. Just for fun.
