That is a cool comparison since I pay 100k least then a ZR1. And guess what I could do with the money left over. Spend another 10k on suspension and then kill the zr1 at the road course then spend the 90k on hookers and blow.2010 F-350 6.4L SRW CC 4X4

The 5.0 is base model v-8 for ford. Why do you have to compare it to top of the line vette 20 years ago? How would the base model vette from 20 years ago hang with the 5.0? It couldn't.Originally posted by quikag View PostThe 20+ year old C4 ZR-1 still hangs pretty good with the new 5.0. What's your point?2010 F-350 6.4L SRW CC 4X4

100k least? Nice grammar. Since you can get a new ZR1 for $100k, then your 5.0 with the KB blower was free then?Originally posted by Badass2000GT View PostThat is a cool comparison since I pay 100k least then a ZR1. I'm sure a free 5.0 with KB blower and $10k worth of suspension will hold up great to a sustained road course session against a bone stock ZR1.
Those ZR1 owners are such idiots when they could have saved $100k getting a 5.0 with some mods that could outperform it. I wonder where those idiots got the money to buy a ZR1 in the first place. I'll go over to corvetteforum and try to find out and report back.Ford

I hate to beat a dead horse, but you have to forgive Steve, he probably saw something on tv, misinterpreted it, and wanted to seem smart on the internet, but he failed miserably.......again.Originally posted by quikag View PostAre you serious? Your logic (or lack thereof) seems to imply since the Corvette outsells pretty much every sports car except the 350/370Z (Mustang/Camaro are muscle/sporty cars) then Porsche should stop producing the 911, BMW should stop making the M3, Audi shouldn't make the R8, Ferrari shouldn't make anything, etc.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I try to stay out of the personal stuff on dfwm, primarily because I haven't met anyone on this board (except for a few Vette guys). That said, Steve, for the love of all things good and pure, please don't post until you have at least google searched your comments. Making asinine comments that have no factual basis in reality doesn't help your case around here.Originally posted by MattB View PostI hate to beat a dead horse, but you have to forgive Steve, he probably saw something on tv, misinterpreted it, and wanted to seem smart on the internet, but he failed miserably.......again.

You're assuming alot of things to put words into what I said to suit your arguement. If you're looking to get into a mudslinging contest, I'm not interested. If you want to have a rational discussion, I'm good with that.Originally posted by quikag View PostAre you serious? Do you know the sales figures on Mustang/Camaro? Clearly you don't. After some quick looking, I was incorrect in my information. Camaro is slightly outselling Mustang by a 3% margin. It seems the new design being announced slowed Mustang sales for so many waiting for the 2013 redesign.

Hey go fuck yourself. I'm typing this shit on an I-phone. And all the zr1's I've seen at dealerships has had a stickier of 125k. I had a chance to get mine for 24k but I went with 1.9% interest rate instead. So yes you can get a 5.0 for 24k which is 100k LESS then a zr1. But I understand you own a vette so you're one of those vette douchebag guys and since ford is came out with the GT500 all you vette owners have been bitching pissing moaning that you waste your money on a slow ass car.Originally posted by quikag View Post100k least? And I was replying to his comparison of the 5.0 to the zr1 back 20 years ago, genius. Both comparison doesn't make any sense what so ever so why post that bullshit. To have a rational discussion, you need to be coming from a rational basis with your comments. The new Camaro has outsold the Mustang since it came out and anyone waiting for the minor redesign of the Mustang is not going to change those stats. Like it or not, the style of the Camaro pops much more than the Mustang and people put a high priority on style when buying cars like the Mustang or Camaro. Until Ford totally redesigns the Mustang, the Camaro will continue to outsell it. Performance doesn't matter to the majority of car buyers (at least minor variances in performance). The SS is fast enough for 98% of Camaro buyers. The 2% where it isn't will buy the slightly faster 5.0 or the GT500 or ZL1.Originally posted by Steve View PostYou're assuming alot of things to put words into what I said to suit your arguement. I don't mudsling, I just report facts and my observations. You were wrong to imply the Corvette is not a money maker and I called you out on it. It's that simple. I do agree with your implied assertion that Ford would have a very hard time breaking into the Corvette market with an all new model because it just doesn't have the history or heritage the Corvette has built over the last 60 years. To that end, it probably would be unprofitable for Ford, but that doesn't mean it's not profitable for GM to continue to make the Corvette. If it wasn't, GM wouldn't make them anymore.Ford
