$200 for oil, intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets, various sensors
$600 for 4 new tires

Oh, don't get me wrong, I've bought a set for that reason. Just as I get older I find certain purchases are worth the extra dough, tires tend to be one of those purchases.

315's aren't too bad, I paid $160/ea for mine.

I really haven't seen any wheels on these cars that I really like very much.

Meh, it's your car, but man some silver (read: not chrome) zr1's are the best wheel for a red c4 hands down in my opinion. Just enough but not too much, plus a lot of folks will mistake it for a real zr1.
