thinking thats why they took the top off. Cut it off then they could pull out and toss parts easily out.

I took the top off an old LTD in 20 minutes with a sawzall and that was alot more thicker metal with a 40 year old white boy with no chop experience..

When they found it it was tied to a pole. They think the top was cut so that it could be squeezed into an enclosed trailer and moved inconspicuously. Then once they were away from prying eyes, they tossed a chain around a pole, attached it to the axle and drove the trailer out from under it.

Yeah, it's a total loss. They are F'ing her on some of the stuff that was inside of it (GPS and camera) but overall it could have been much worse. She should be out of the rental and in her new car this week.
