I dont ride nor do I care to. Its kinda funny seeing the cops get fucked with as much as they fuck with everyone else. Nobody was harmed and I bet it pissed that cop off. FTP

In fairness, I really wouldn't bat an eye if several of them did a fish flop on the asphalt, but with that said, I don't ever look at a single rider and automatically think that he/she must be like those asshats.Originally posted by Baba Ganoush View PostI used to ride in this town, but these assholes and their douchebaggery, lumped my in to a profile that got me more attention than any hot rod I've ever driven.
It's a free country, but this shit ruins riding for a lot of honest, law abiding citizens.

Yeah, but you're in the minority.Originally posted by cobrajet69 View PostIn fairness, I really wouldn't bat an eye if several of them did a fish flop on the asphalt, but with that said, I don't ever look at a single rider and automatically think that he/she must be like those asshats.

I never once got a ticket riding, or busted a wheelie or stoppie, or rode with anyone, let alone a pack. But that doesn't matter nowadays. The cops hate you if you're on a sportbike, I just got tired of the harassment.
I really hope to be riding again someday, but it won't be in the DFW area.

Most of the guys I work with either have a bike or want a bike. We have a Busa, two ZX10Rs, a ZX7R, a Concours, FJR1300, SV650, and about six Harleys. Not once have I heard any one of my crew say they hate bikes or riders. I have stopped a lot of bikes in my day and I am usually nicer to them since I know they can run and I just love bikes. The pack mentality and group rides like in the video are the only times I would suspect agencies to get a little pissed off. Please don't act like you know how cops think about bikes. I have owned a YZF1000R with a big block kit loaded out, a ZX11 turbo, a GSXR1000 with NOS, a 954 RR, Vulcan 1600, TL1000R, 07Vmax, Vrod and my current squeeze a 96 FLHT. Not to mention I am an avid offroader also. Hell one lady I work with rides all over the country every chance she gets on her FJR.Originally posted by Baba Ganoush View PostYeah, but you're in the minority.

The fact they didn't do anything in the video to warrant the use of deadly force. That's one of the areas where they are going to run into problems stopping them. They can't just ram them off the road or use spike strips or shoot out the tires without putting the riders in danger of serious bodily harm or death. I.E. deadly force.2004 Suzuki DL650
Chopper? I think some of the newer super-bikes can outrun the helicopters, at least in a straight line.[/QUOTE
The average police helicopter tops out at about 135mph in good weather (no headwind).
The way a slower chopper can keep up with a faster bike is:
1. Altitude
2. Straight line/no obstacles
A chopper can keep someone on view just by going up. It increases the distance those bad ass cameras (FLIR) can see.
Also, say someone is taking I35 south to I20 (east or west). The chopper can cut the corner and make up tremendous distance on the bike.
There is a way to outrun the chopper, but I'm not saying it here.
I remember several years back, a guy on a liter bike came through Dallas headed south (I'm in Ellis County) on I35, and he dusted a couple of helicopters (I had an acquaintance at Redbird Airport that was in one of the choppers that was involved in the chase). If I remember correctly, DPS caught him between Waco and Temple (?) only after he ran out of gas.Originally posted by Vertnut View PostChopper? In town or traffic, unless the chopper runs out of fuel, he can follow anything.
