They probably got close to 190mph both runs, and only passed one car.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. What if that one car had an emergency and needed to get to the exit. They should have just pulled out a gun and shot them for speeding.
BTW: the BMW S1000rr have an option for a quick shifter. You still have to engage with your foot, but you do not need to let off any throttle.. the system will process everything.

A better comparison would be a few bikes riding wheelies as this is only a couple vehicles going deep triple digits.Originally posted by ThreeFingerPete View PostI've never seen a street race in rush hour traffic with a 400 car traffic jam behind it that lasted 30 minutes.
If you want to compare a big annual street ride to a street race a better comparison would be the TX2KXX street races where dozens of cars run all weekend at deep triple digit speeds some exceeding 200mph.
I would love to have a vehicle that could run with the big dogs down the freeway in Houston at TX2k and I would love to go to St. Louis for the ROC ride. Both things are dangerous, both selfish, maybe it makes me an asshole, but at least I see the danger in them both while making a more apples-to-apples comparison.
You're really full of it if you think blasting deep triple digit speeds down the freeway is any less dangerous for the public at large than riding wheelies at 60mph. LOLUS Politics in three words - Divide and Conquer

Less dangerous isn't the point.Originally posted by Hobie View PostA better comparison would be a few bikes riding wheelies as this is only a couple vehicles going deep triple digits.

I've been riding street bikes in DFW for almost 10 years. I very seldom see a group of stunters that don't take up the entire highway and cause huge traffic issues. Thats how its always been.
I don't see anybody in this video doing anything to hinder anyone else's day-1997 Supra- mid 8 second street car
-1993 Cobra- 700rw
-2012 CTS-V- 9 second daily driver
-1991 Coupe- LSA/TT/4L80 in the making
-2007 GSXR 1000- built turbo bike

- The TX2K guys do it once a year.
- They organize quietly.
- The dollars invested in those fast cars eliminates a lot of the social idiots.
- They aren't going 20-40 cars deep @ 1pm on a busy freeway slowing everyone down and acting like assholes.
-The TX2K guys go out way, way, way later and will produce gaps in traffic (if there is any) and marginalize risks.
I rarely see any cars getting passed in their videos, and they have prolonged runs that, being 60-200mph sometimes, cover a decent amount of distance.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. give me video of the guys stunting @70mph and at 1 in the morning not impeding traffic. I'll say "cool". Until then, stunting @ 40mph at 1 in the afternoon still makes the stunting dullards a danger and a HUGE irritant to the average motorist.Originally posted by JasonRR View PostWord.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you.
