We had a thread about Six Flags in Canada, but there used to be a small sea world under the Oil Derrick, iirc it was called The Seven Seas or something like that.

I remember The Seven Sea's and went when I was really young, after it closed it became Hawaii Kai which lasted several years before finally closing.

Anyone old enough to remember the Big Bend?

I was scared of the Big Bend of course I was very young! I remember when the Shock Wave and the Texas Shootout were built in my early teens, thought they were the coolest things I ever rode!!! Great thread!!

Yep. It was in 1999. The rafts uses several bladders to stay afloat and some of them became deflated causing the raft to sit lower on one side and it caught on one of the pipes in the bed used to create the rapids and tipped.




Seven Seas was located where the Arlington Sheraton is now. It was on the north side of Arlington Stadium.

My parents drove us 3 kids up to Six Flags from Austin the summer of 1965. I had just turned 5. Adult admission was $4. They were shocked. Gas was .30 a gallon then and movies were $1. The big attraction was the Spelunker Cave and the Mine Train. The place was tiny then. I don't remember a lot of details, but I do remember that much.

Thanks for the 1987 flashback! I was in 5th grade in '87. I think I spied some British knights on the Texas tornado! Lol. Man, those were some good times. My two favorite rides were the spindletop and roto disco.
