$Mid 600 something can't remember exact amount, but gonna say 660 out the door
not including the vent cowl (I was lucky already had one).
Was the lowest quote of all I got, highest was 2k
Shop around, I would recomend collision centers first unless you have a good
connection at a regular body shop. It can be repaired w/o removing the front clip, windshield. G/L

        That sucks!

It happens though. My buddy has had it happen twice. I have an 87 Coupe in the pasture that's like that too.

To everyone who this has happened to, was it easier to fix the cowl area or cut it and replace it with a straight one???? It even bent the top of my firewall back a bit

I'm sure that its safe to assume that that 2k quote consisted of the shop cutting the cowl out which would involve the R&I of fenders and windshield. Cutting it out would be far more work than just straightening. I repaired one a while back that logged over 15hrs and I still thought it was easier to repair.

What sucks about a hood opening is that, depending on how fast you're going, you see it coming up, but have just enough time to say "motherfucker I'm an idio..." before it comes up and slams backwards.
