Something is seriously wrong with me, I want one of the new Ford Ecoboost 1.0l engines in a Samurai. None of the fancy computer-controlled powertrain stuff, just the 120+ hp engine 3cyl replacing the 63 hp 4 cyl engine. My old POS Sammy would give 25 mpg on the highway at 55mph, I bet the 1.0l Ecoboost engine would push close to 35 mpg in the same platform at 70 mph.
Yeah, apples to oranges I guess since we are talking only an engine. When Ford develops an AWD 1.0l Ecoboost drivetrain, I'll talk about installing it into a Festiva.
