That hospital was just a general ICU...we got a little bit of everything. That patient was septic. I now work in a medical/surgical 18 bed ICU with crazier patients. We tend to keep people alive artificially for weeks on 3-4 pressors, crrt, etc.

We have a 32 bed ICU and IICU. We do med/surg, fresh open hearts, and now neuro surgeries. Yeah, we do a lot of that as well. We have had a lot of Rhabdo pt's here lately, its crazy how things come in two's or three's sometimes. We stay completely full most of the time with pt's in holding areas waiting for ICU beds.
