What is the difference between turbo and supercharger? Is it normal to blow engines like that on something like this?

That's in the United Arab Emirates. I read somewhere that they don't run paddle tires because the vehicles are heavy and with paddle tires they bog the engines to much.

Turbos get their power from the exhaust gases. Super chargers are belt driven and achieve their power through the output of the motor.
