I'm confused on this one and not trying to be sarcastic, you're asking for the best - but then mention money. The best is going to cost a bit more than a -bang for the buck- type trailer.
Either way, generally there are brand names out there. There are bells and whistles/warranty advantages to the ones that are more expensive - as well as some build differences. However, it just depends if the extra 10-15% in cost is worth it to you.
Personally, I'm a Diamond C fan. I do not have a car hauler though, but I like their products and I do now own a utility trailer from them.....
We are ushering in a whole new generation of car haulers – all reimagined, newly designed, and jam packed with all our latest engineering advancements.

Texas Steel Industries is a great outfit. I almost bought an Aluma 8220H from them, but went ahead and got a Kwikload 20' with a notch tail. Makes loading my Vette a piece of cake with no need for ramps or anything. I needed to use a few 2x4's with the Aluma and figured with as much money as I'm spending I want a trailer where I don't need anything but the trailer itself to load.
Speaking of which, the Kwikload should be delivered in a few hours. I can't wait to see it.
Rreemo. It was a Challenger, built by 102 Ironworks...they used to be good trailers up until around early 00's or so when they started using shit thin-assed metal imported from China. Now-a-days I wouldn't recommend anything built by that shitty company. Mine was built out of boxed steel and it still broke ahead of the front axle...was hauling a 66' Corvette at the time. When I say broke...I mean literally almost in 2 pieces...if not for the steel floor it would have separated. I ended up replacing the frame rails with much heavier steel (doubled in the front half), and it also went through several sets of shackles, spring hangers, had shitty ramp doors, etc, etc. I addressed most of the issues over time, but all in total it would have been MUCH cheaper and less headache to just buy a well built trailer to start with.
I actually just sold it to Dentguru last weekend too, it's not a bad trailer now that I've done so damned much work to it, but I still only sold it for $1000 just b/c he's a friend and I felt bad about it's lacking quality (he's known all about it too though...borrowed it a bunch of times (before he bought it).
I have this exact trailer in the 24' version now, upgraded to 7500# axles, and it's a friggin Hoss!...but you won't pull it with a half ton.

That's no shit! This also works on drunk driving incidents. I threw a chain around my bumper/fender and pulled everything relatively back into shape from some fucking asshole backing into me.
