Yup. Gasoline, or "bug and tar remover" works well for it after it's old and crusty. My brother dipped his rims, some emblems, and a buddy's bike. They all turned out very well, but I really wouldn't do my car. If it was an absolute nightmare and I didn't want to paint it, sure.

Nope. Asked him about it though, but it was a little more than I can spare at the moment.

What is the texture like? Is it bumpy like a bedliner? I get the idea it is much smoother, probably sprayed a lot thinner. Is it available in spray cans yet?

Yes you wash it like normal. Give it a week or 2 (depending on weather) before you get rough with it. Here's a couple of pics of my (dirty) Civic.
