Nothing like hearing local law describe parts of your state as having police that are like the people in Deliverance.
Glad with his outcome but I usually avoid these situations by not being confrontational.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

That better sums up my feelings.Originally posted by BLAKE View PostThat is maddening. I generally dislike the FTP thing, because I value the work that cops do, but shitty cops, and a court system that supports their shittiness is ridiculous.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

DOJ or whoever the appropriate authority needs to put that town under the microscope and have a full review of their convictions.
Writing frivolous tickets and generating revenue like that, if it's a sizeable operation, and a small enough town, could lead to a similar situation that Martindale, TX faced. They were notorious for writing tickets, and the state comptroller audited them & found they were generating an excessive amount allowed by law (cities with fewer than 5000 residents cannot generate more than 30% of their revenue from traffic citations)...

I'm as FTP as the next guy... often more.
BUT, they weren't really safely pulled over. That was probably the precipitation of the whole situation.
I have issues with how everybody involved conducted themselves, but at the end of the day, I believe in our constitution, and I'm thankful that there are people out there fighting the good fight however small the battle.

Ditto. The prosecutor said to him "you may beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride". Doesn't matter if you can't beat the ride, it's the principal of the matter, and hopefully with this guy's production efforts on this video, it puts that little racket in the spotlight; an expose might be in order.Originally posted by Cooter View PostI have issues with how everybody involved conducted themselves, but at the end of the day, I believe in our constitution, and I'm thankful that there are people out there fighting the good fight however small the battle.Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it.
