Z06 embarassed just now on 635- what car is this?

all i have to say is that a stock GTR-34 or 33 or 32 aint shit ,yes they are nice, and yes they can be turned into monsters no doubt, but theres no such thing as a skyline an illegal car for the US anymore , i've seen plenty at car meetings , specially GTR-34's, just my .02 cents.

I don't keep up with all the particulars, but I know you can now import R-33s as of this year fairly easily, but they are my least favorite of the modern Skylines.

There has been a lot of crazy shit going on with these cars. Most were imported and psuedo converted by Moto-rex and then Kaizo.

Both companies went down in dramatic hollywood scandal fashion. Kaizo was operated by a LAPD officer or LA county sheriff, don't remember.

Then the feds started seizing previously registered cars from private owners. There is a guy on a non-car board I post on who is local that I *think* just got his car back after the feds holding onto it for over 3 years. Some people hid their cars for years and others dumped them at a huge loss in fear of the government stealing them and becoming a total loss.

Car in the first post could be Samis R-32. He used to live around Lewisville and go to those KFC meets of 121 about 10 years ago. Not sure though.

It's a good read if you google the stories about moto-rex and kaizo or anything you come across on a message board about someone that got robbed by the US gov't.

A guy here at work has one just like it, its an 89 model and looks so new.
Took me for a ride in it, and it was so weird sitting on the left side, without a steering wheel. And let me tell you, the car is pretty stout!

A guy a street over from my parent's house has an R34, or did, he moved a few years back. It was a friend of mine from HS's dad. I tried to get him to race the neon when it was stock and he wouldn't, lol. I did see him get beat by a lid/cutout TA, though. Supposedly had an HKS turbo kit and some other parts on it.

r32 skyline gtr.....tits!!!! Pretty sure I saw that car @ a ricekiller meet. Big single turbo and supporting mods, prob at least 650hp.

I stayed in the Philippines this past summer for about 2.5 months and went to the local street races at night, saw a couple R33's and R34's out there and I would have to say for a street car they are pretty impressive. I've seen allot of street cars launch out on the streets and they hooked really good, but I've never seen a car like the skyline take off so violent like that on the streets, I was really impressed at the way it just hooked up all 4 wheels up and left.

Rumor from Okinawa is they are tracking those cars down still and taking them. That's what everyone was saying while I was there. The only skyline ever approved by the U.S. was a small selection of R33's. Even some of the "kit" cars that made it through Florida have supposedly been seized and crushed.

Japan has some horrible rules, it's hard as fuck to get shit in and out of there automotive wise. All the guys I was friends with would fill gorilla trunks full of parts, and pay the Japanese shippers w/ beer and pizza to smuggle their goods back.
