Sounds like the speeder claimed he showed the off duty officer his ID and proceded to exit the vehicle. The officer was still thinking things through and preferred the perp to remain in his vehicle. So now the officer is suspended since he didn't let the IA guy go once he identified himself. What happened to the speeding ticket the guy should have gotten? I also noticed he had a lot of backup that showed up quickly which included a K-9 unit. This makes me think there is more to this story than what was caught on video.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cop went seemed to react pretty quick, maybe a but too quick. It would be nice to hear the dialog. If I was IA, I would taunt the cops, push them to see how they react, and goad them into action. Weed out the hot heads.Originally posted by YALE View PostThat IA guy is a real faggot.

Ahh different article says that camera was the officers personal one and not the city issued. Apparently there's another video that shows him taking the camera down and talking to someone in a phone call afterwards. Dumb of him to post it to YouTube...

He probably did that because he was about to get shafted by IA, and the video of the incident "lost".Originally posted by jewozzy View PostAhh different article says that camera was the officers personal one and not the city issued. Said something about he let a friend see it and the friend put it on the net. I don't know that I buy that story. If you are recording that in the event to use if it got " lost" wouldn't you want to keep it a secret and hope for a whistle blower complaint where you'll make a boat load of money?Originally posted by Magnus View PostHe probably did that because he was about to get shafted by IA, and the video of the incident "lost".

As soon as the IA guy pulled out what I assume to be his credentials the cop got on his cell phone. I figured he was calling his union rep, or boss.Originally posted by jewozzy View PostAhh different article says that camera was the officers personal one and not the city issued. Although, I did notice that when the IA guy reached back into his car to get the ID the original cop pulled his weapon and was holding it at his side.
Audio sure would have been nice.
BTW, why is an off duty cop pulling someone over for speeding? I suspect it was more than just going too fast. Maybe driving very aggressively or something? That would make more sense as to the immediate back-up.
