wonder how much i am losing with this super loose converter. according my datalog i shut down at 100mph @ 5848rpm.
according to the gear calculator (which assumes 0 slip) the motor should be at 4500rpm @ 100mph and at 5800 would be at 130.
my converter is slipping BIG TIME on the top end!

You can bet it's too loose, and that it's going to be costing you 'some' - but there is no hard calculation as to what works and what doesnt. You can rest assured that if it's too tight on the top end the car will suffer ET because the engine won't be able to pull through it inside of 660'. Like, say, inside of 10% or so.Originally posted by dville_gt View Postwonder how much i am losing with this super loose converter. according my datalog i shut down at 100mph @ 5848rpm.

Slip is normally calculated from engine RPM vs. Driveshaft speed - not vehicle speed. (or at least in most aftermarket dataloggers it is)
