Well, in a last ditch effort we tapped a R12 -> 134a fitting for the correct pitch of the low pressure switch and charged the system. Everything was good, system was blowing cold. When we removed the special fitting we found that the schrader valve in the switch port was crushed and as soon as we removed the fitting we lost a lot of freon before we could get the pressure switch on and the system cycles and there is no way to fill it up. I decided to have it evacuated and have a real low pressure port welding onto the suction line. Looks like we'll be making another attempt at charging it up on Thursday or Friday.
