I would have told them, in no uncertain terms, to, "Kiss my ass, I'm leaving."
I was on the Enhanced list for a while after sub-contracting for Siemens. It was a 99% travel job, and we had short-notice, one-way flights all the time. Seeing that boarding pass print out with SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS across the top and bottom was the most dread-inducing thing ever.

I've done that plenty, and often times you get through security quicker when flying selectee than when flying with ID.Originally posted by BP View PostWhereas my mother in law can leave her wallet at my house and manage to get on two planes without any kind of ID and not be delayed at all.

Via the youtube page for the video...Originally posted by F8LSVT View PostI would be curious to know how this ordeal ended for the guy.
They tried to get me to do additional screening of my Body after I was already off the plane and headed out of the airport. I ended up leaving the airport without incident from the Denver police.

I used to get enhanced screenings 50% of the time but I usually flew standby at least one leg. Now I use my DOD card as an ID and sometimes they even stamp the pass for pre check. It's nice not having to take off your belt, shoes and remove my laptop.
It's crazy how I used to be a clean shaved whiteboy and was checked all the time but now that I have a full beard and look more like Nadal Hassan they let me right on, sometimes giving me the express pass.
When I flew out of Philly last time some guy was trying to get by with a passport that looked like it had been washed a dozen times and used as a chew toy by a pitbull for a few days. He had some sort of a British accent and was wearing a hoodie and shorts. I bet he's still getting probed in a back room somewhere. Whereas my mother in law can leave her wallet at my house and manage to get on two planes without any kind of ID and not be delayed at all.

Not necessarily. The criteria for enhanced screening is a joke. I was on the no-fly list and then the enhanced list for five years.Originally posted by Big A View PostI have no issue with the post-flight check, if for no other reason than that it let the guy know that he is indeed being watched, and won't be getting away with anything. He is, after all, on that list for a reason."
My crime - I flew one way flights. I was doing system upgrades for a major corporation and I had to visit several factories on a trip. So I would fly a route like : Dallas --> Denver --> Chicago --> Minneapolis --> home to Dallas. Six trips like this and I was branded a terrorist and couldn't fly for three months while the TSA "investigated me". I was then allowed to fly but enhanced screening for an additional five years.
Trust me - that shit gets old quick. Worst part about it is that I have a top secret clearance from the DOD and the DOJ. They trusted me, TSA wouldnt.

That screening is all bullshit to condition us. Who is going to stop me from taking my steak knife from Chilis at DFW onto my flight? Already past the checkpoint, too late now. Is that trashcan our confiscated oversized liquid explosives goes into bombproof? rolleyes
I stopped subscribing to cable about a year ago as I didn't think I really watched much tv, but I watched a lot more than I realized. Helps me get away from the house and do shit. I don't even have my tv's set-up for free tv. I took my 32" and made it my computer monitor. My living room tv is just for watching movies.
Anywyas, I was at a friends place the other day and the news was on (FNC if it matters) and it came across so fake and weird. It was so foreign to me, made me feel as if I had been almost brainwashed before, so clearly propagandized. What had previously been the norm was now just laughably bad.
Terrorism & illegal aliens seem to be boogeymen created and fomented in order for state and federal agencies to get bigger budgets and seize more power. Voiceless and foreign people to scapegoat all of societies problems. Didn't the Nazis do this with the Jews? How much longer can this nation support the deficits created by both parties? A pretty kick-ass country is being suffocated by a government run amok. As a people we do nothing to stop it, chicken little has scared us all, we have the government we deserve.

This fucking right here.Originally posted by jefehbk View PostTSA can go fuck themselves. And how does paying with cash make you a target of illegal activity? Cause the government can't track you thru cash like they can with debit or credit cards
Paying cash arouses suspension? Fuck you big brother.
Hobie, you have seen the light. People in this country would give up sex and food before they would live without Facebook and CNN. It's fucking crazy.

The real problem is the lack of screening on the front end, which highlights that airport security isn't at all secure. Hopefully someone lost their job over it.

^All of that.
Basically, you just have to be willing to put up with an enormous amount of shit just to get permission to feel up old ladies and kids, steal from baggage, make asinine decisions, and lets really suspicious people walk right through.

Part time split shifts maybe two hours a shift with up to two hour gaps in between. Apply wait three months, test, oral board, another test, back ground (worse then police}, airport assessment, and then a couple of more steps before being put on a ready list. I think it was 28k or 32k a year but that was the full time rate. I imagine there would have not really been any part time but that was the positions they opened . It was a lot of shit for a terrible paying job that had shitty hours. Each step was a different trip to a different place.Originally posted by BoostedD1 View PostX2

I'll always say the tsa couldn't prevent a terrorist attack if their lives depended on it.

So what did they want new hires to do? What was the pay?Originally posted by kingjason View PostI went through about 90 percent of the process. I actually thought they were out of their mind on what they wanted a new hire to do, not to mention terrible pay and hours. My buddy said do not walk, run away from that place. I hit the big deny button at the last step.
