All those munitions and a overpriced PoS plane that can barely fly.
Overpriced... Probably
The mis-handling of the project at the federal level and the cost overruns are pretty much a long standing joke at this point
POS.... I'll have to disagree on that one
While not as adept at pure air to air combat as the F-22... It still retains F-16\F-18 like maneuverability while maintaining a full combat load in the bay.
(The F-16\18 would need to drop ordnance, tanks, etc to see the same performance)
Also, the avionics, system integration and Situational Awareness capabilities are second to none.
Situational Awareness (SA) is pretty much the key in overall air combat... add the stealth capability and it will be a great asset.
If they can get the rest of the remaining technical issues ironed out it's pretty much a revolution as far as system and pilot capability.
There comes a time when honest debate, serious diplomatic efforts, and logical arguments have been exhausted and only men and women willing to take up arms against evil will suffice to save the freedom of a nation or continent.
So, when the X-plane competition was written up the Navy forgot to go to the meetings?
