    I've always just used a good compound and high speed buffed them. I'm not sure what's so special about those kits. Lots of things will clear them up, hell Brasso works great temporarily.

    I saw this on facebook and decided to try it. HOLY SHIT, this works badass!

    The headlights on my 01 Accord beater looked like shit. I hit them with a 3M kit a couple years ago, which worked great, but was time consuming, messy & cost $20. It also only lasted a few months before they turned yellow again.

    I had some 40% deet spray at home, and in 2 minutes my headlights looked brand new! Even better than with the kit that took over an hour to do them.

    I know it's not permanent, neither are the kits. If I have to spend 2 minutes every couple months to keep them looking new, I can handle that.
