Nice truck..I just picked up a 14 Chevy Crew Cab with the 5.3. I love the truck but you will find the throttle response is just not there. Will be asking dealership if there is a programmer that can be used so warranty is not voided.

I know when the truck goes into cylinder deactivation, there's definitely a lag when you want to go.

Yep. They are all that way. It's almost like there is resistance to the throttle. Takes some getting used to. My 2014 6.2 was exactly the same.

HATED my 2014 Silverado CC with the 5.3. Gutless piece of shit. My 07 Ford 5.4 CC was way better and my 2015 dodge 2500 CC diesel was perfect. That was a nice Challenger you had!

Thanks. The Challenger was pretty great. Agreed on the diesel but think you are smoking crack on a 5.4 being better than......anything. Maybe something was wrong with your 5.3 or had the 308 gears. I know lots of the trucks on the lot have 308s. Never drove one with those gears so I can't compare but my 15 5.3 with 342s isn't bad at all. Runs descent. It does like mid-upper rpms.

i would bet the 5.4 felt a little stronger in the low rpms. having owned a 2011 and 2013 6.2 then a 2014 6.2 it felt like the 14 was sluggish but it was far from it. it would have easily out run either. i think they made the feel of the new trucks kind of numb and the seat of the pants feel is a little boring.
