El - oh - el. I understand board personalities quite well. There are 3 main types:

1) Above average Intelligence and/or wealthy. No need to show off, but will give advice/tips when it is helpful ( Think Roscoe, Strychnine, Grape, etc.)

2) Average Joe (absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, I am one of those). Like to give opinions, maybe share stories, and here for the general bullshit and time killing.

3) Waste of space. Nothing of real value to add, or so insecure that they are too worried about measuring up to other people. These people lie. A lot. About everything. (Think Freighttrain, YOU, etc.)

And you care quite a bit, or you wouldn't have so many sad aliases all over the net.
