Im just waiting for 4k projectors to drop in price.

It's not happening very quickly. Started at 20k, down to around 5k now. However, the cheaper offerings are not true 4k, it's a little bit of a scam once you look at the fine print.

Im not holding my breath on 4k content being pretty mainstream until next year. Even with TV prices being low, the 4k content is pretty low. Im also happy with 1080p and dont think I need 4k.

No I have watched 1080 but don't see a huge difference in quality... at least that makes a difference to me. It makes sense but you may just disagree.

I try and explain this to people and they just dont understand. I sit 5 feet away from my 50 inch 4k. It's amazing for GAMES only. The streaming isn't true 4k. It's close but doesn't blow you away like the 4k formated rays will. We're talking like 100 or more GB per movie for Lord of the Rings or something similar.

I have a friend who just bought (financed) a curved 55 Sammy 7900 series. He sits about 15+ feet from it. It IS soo shitty. He got it and will end up paying about 2800 for a 1400 dollar tv. Even though he bought it, he had no idea what 4k even was until I told him and had no idea that he couldn't get content easily. I told him he had to sit closer when content came out or its a waste and he told me I was crazy.

Anyway he's dumb but he loves it.

What is funny is I bought the upgraded chipset Sammy 50 4k that I have the weekend after for 800 lol. Only difference is mine is flat. I noticed black uniformity is pretty bad on the curved screens and mine almost looks like an OLED display after I calibrated it.

This is the one that I have in the living room. Honestly, it is clear enough for me. I'd like to go bigger at some point, but I haven't gotten super excited about 4k yet. Mine also has the Evolution Kit upgrade ability. So right now it has a quad core processor, but they should be coming out with the upgrade before too long. Depending on what it upgrades, I may purchase the kit. The curved screens are neat, but not cool enough to make me drop that much coin again just for some curves.

We got a Samsung 65 inch (not the curved one) at Xmas time. It's pretty fucken great watching 4K shit. Daredevil and House of Cards are pretty detailed! Well, all 4k stuff is, but it is pretty cool.
I never watched anything in 3D until I got this tv, that is also pretty cool.
