Thanks guys, I'm loving it so far. I'm still in the break-in, but I did hit 6k rpm (redline 7,800) last night at 260 miles and it seems to "come on cam" a little over 5k, where you get a noticeable extra surge of power. That was pretty cool. I can't wait to drive it in anger at the track and around town.
I feel very fortunate I was able to get one. It's nice to actually own a desirable, fun car early on in it's limited production run knowing I will lose little to no money if I choose to sell it down the road. It's a big difference from the Vettes and other cars I've bought (steep depreciation curves).

You guys are arguing over which supermodel is hotter.... Both are insanely good looking, and I'd invite either one home, if the opportunity arose itself.
Edit: the PDK may make it quicker, but the GT4 isn't designed to attack time sheets, it's designed to give a pure driving experience, which a manual does. Turn sport mode on and it automatically rev matches the downshifts anyway. If you want to attack time sheets, either buy a GT3 or a GT3 RS.

Porsche 911 is an excellent car and I dont hate them but the Cayman looks much better IMHO. That and if they allowed all the tech and power that 911s have available and put it in the Cayman I believe the Cayman would just destroy the 911. Its just a better chasis and you are not trying to overcome that huge weight thats in the wrong place.
The Cayman just has so much more style to me.

When they first came out I liked them but was a bit miffed that Porsche would purposely make the car not as good as it could be. Like initially not even giving an option for an LSD or the detuning of engines.
Its nice to see this time they gave it the GT3 suspension and the nice 3.8 but then they detuned it by 15 HP and dont allow it to have the PDK which would make it even quicker. I know Porsche claims 0-60 in 4.2 seconds but I bet its sub 4 seconds as Porsche really seem to like underselling acceleration in their cars. I also like that its just as fast on the Ring as the last gen GT3 was. I bet with intake, tune and exhaust its every bit as quick as the new GT3 but just soooooo much better looking, 50k cheaper and with a good size trunk! Here is a friend of mine installing a phenominal system in one:

Man, that's a fantastic looking car! The GT4 package absolutely brings the Cayman to a whole different level. Congrats on the purchase, and bravo on the color choice!
Even though I've always been a ~95% American Muscle Era fan, 911 was actually one of those childhood dream cars for me....more specifically the bug-eyed 930's of the late-70's/80's vintage. I never (yet) had one of those, but my C2 911 turned out to be one of my favorites of all the cars I've ever owned....and it was just a 996. Yes, the 996 era weren't the most desirable of 911's - maintenance, performance adds, and parts in-general are stupid expensive, they are noisy out on the road, and people tend to judge you a bit for driving one...but I can say that I probably honestly miss that car more than any of the others that have come & gone. Enough to be assured that I will own another P-car eventually.
