  • I went to Tulsa and helped build a 74ft steel sail boat.

So last weekend I went to Tulsa Oklahoma to help out building a 74 foot sail boat being built by Doug. He's been building the boat for a few years and has his own youtube channel called Sv Seeker. He's going to use the boat as a research vessel, for salvage operations, repairs, and it even has an under water remote operated vehicle that he built and designed. He calls this boat "the boat the internet built" because people that watch his videos give ideas and their expertise to help him out. People also travel to his home to help build the boat. He even built an apartment just to house the people that come to help him. I had a great time last weekend and Im definetly going to be going again soon.

Check out the guys other vids. He builds everything himself. He pretty much does it all in his videos. https://www.youtube.com/user/submarineboat

North East Tulsa. He welcomes anyone that wants to help. He built an apartment for people to stay in for free that want to come and spend a few nights but you have to book in. I just slept on a cot in his shop because someone was staying in the apartment. Im definitely going back and another friend of mine is going to go with me next time. Check out the rest of his videos. Here's his video about working with him.

Wow. That's impressive. He wins the Internets for nice, humble, and downright cool.

If so, you are definitely Roscoe's doppleganger.

Cool, but an old school bus engine in the middle of the ocean scares me.

It's been rebuilt. It's also a sail boat so he'd have to be stuck without wind for quit a while. There's going to be another smaller diesel engine to run a generator, hydraulic pumps, water pumps, etc... I told him he should run a Cummins 4bt so he'd have another set of parts that he could possibly swap.
