Have you guys tried the 5.11 atac boots. I'm on my second pair, and the best part is the side zipper, and knife pocket.

I am on my first pair of the ATACs and so far so good after 6 months.

Could be... if it was though, paint jobs will soon be a thing of the past because it looked better than any paint job I've ever seen. I wish I could have taken some better pics.

There is only two companies doing these paint jobs, the way they spray the chrome is they just lay it on heavy until it all starts to run, not just anyone can spray that paint, then they go over it with a candy.... One guy in Dallas is starting to do it now, my uncle wants to do the roof of his 63 like that... And it does look really wet up close.

Two pairs of these only lasted a month each in Afghanistan before the soles started to fall apart in big chunks.

I switched to a 5.11 side zip 3/4 boot that lasted a year. I replaced them once a year for 5 years.

I'll have to check those out. I was looking into a pair of Danner desert boots, I'm not sure I want to drop that kind of cash on some right now.
