      I would wonder too.

      From CSBA:
CSBA is an independent, non-partisan policy research institute established to promote innovative thinking and debate about national security strategy and investment options.

"The Obama Administration’s FY 2011 budget request includes a total of $712 billion for the Department of Defense (DoD). The base budget for the Department includes $549 billion in discretionary funding and $4 billion in mandatory funding. An additional $159 billion is requested for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The budget also requests $19 billion for defense-related atomic energy programs, $8 billion for defense-related activities in other agencies, and $122 billion for veterans. Together these expenses total $861 billion, or 22 percent of the total federal budget."

I am curious and can not see the picture. What is it?

The kind of shit someone propagates out of ideology, and not fact.

"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury." -Alexander Fraser Tytler

Matt, here's our 2400 horsepower mud pump.

Can't imagine hauling that beast out to an offshore rig.

                  What input speed?

1200 or 1800 rpm driver? (or electric?)

Haven't seen the specs on it yet (still new to me). This one was at the show in Houston which explains the wrap, but the glass covers are OEM parts. Pretty cool to see those huge gears and crank in action. This one is headed to the new test facility right next to where it's sitting. Two 2000 horse power electric motors will run it, but still are short on the torque we'd like to have.

Stupid question on my part. I blame the beer that was on sale today.

Driver speed rating (if diesel engine) doesn't matter since they would use a 2 spd gearbox or adjust sheaves on the drive to get their bbl/min flow needed.
We're working on some new mudpump ratings... engine speeds have been on my mind all day.

Just FYI: The ad was from 1972

                            BLS Inflation Calculator shows $1800 (1972) ~ $7673 (2012)
