The car is still in his garage also.




And I've been told he was backseat when this pic was taken.




Post Navy he went on to the defense contracting side (electrical engineer) and did controls and guidance for some big missile projects at TI and Raytheon. At family dinners growing up I remember watching in-flight test vids from China Beach and other test ranges out west... that shit was so cool. These are some of the mission patches that he gave me.






And for good measure here's my other uncle during Vietnam.

Yeah he's still here. Green Beret in Vietnam, apparently got a medal or two (something about saving his platoon in a nighttime attack?)... Put the medal(s) in a box somewhere and doesn't talk about any of it. I only know bits and pieces from my dad's stories.
