And this is why you shouldnt let idiots work on your car. Good customer of mine now but before he went to a few shady places. Apparently one had no idea there is an inboard and an outboard brake pad so he just slapped them in. Well the outoard pad that he mounted inboard pressed its two nubs into the piston (the dimples on the lip) and proceeded to crack the pistons all the way down.
On good ABS cycle or emergency brake stop and those pistons would have shattered.
