That is a lipo battery pack commonly used in RC cars. That looks to be a 3 or a 4 cell pack. The vid is absolutely real.

They can be very unstable when you run them too far down. I have seen this happen while on a car and the car burned down on the off road track.

The fire department had to be called to Mikes Hobby Shop recently when this happened in a private pit room.
