Those 4-8-8-4s were unbelievable.
Both of my grandfathers worked on the railroad during the steam days.
Maternal grandfather was with Frisco, and worked a lot on the 4500s:

I have a great respect for spiders ever since I saw one of these:
Take down a wasp. As he was chomping on it around a corner I would peek around and he'd turn around and look at me until I went away. Spiders are awesome.Comment
