It's not too bad, unless you have to work.Originally posted by Baron Von Crowder View PostNow i want to go out in the middle of the ocean and stare at the stars.

Yeah...I was amazed when I moved from Arlington to Anna. Still light pollution but not nearly as much. I had forgotten what the stars looked like from when I was a kid.Originally posted by GrayStangGT View PostYea, if you don't have a month to go out to the ocean take a trip out to big bend or Lajitas. Once you get away from the light pollution of the cities its crazy how the sky looks.

I never did that math, but I have a few stars on my sea service ribbon. I'm glad those days are behind me. I know the longest I ever spent submerged without sunlight was 78 days.Originally posted by helosailor View PostIt's not too bad, unless you have to work.

It's funny. I feel like I was educated well and paid well for my service. I like that everyone thinks it was something special but I had it a lot easier than some guys like FF. Those guys were in the shit. I was on a submarine. If the last sub I was on ever gets involved, lots of people are going to die. Thinking about the millions that could die led me to get out and work in a non defense based business. Sleeping next to that much firepower changes your outlook on the world and life. I hate that there are assholes out there in power ruining it for everyone.Originally posted by BLAKE View PostWoof. F that. Thank you for your service! I’m glad we have guys like you two to take those rides.
