Don't be mad. All I see here is you creating a situation to argue with yourself. As originally stated, you are the only one who seems to not understand what the OP stated.Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostI know exactly what he's trying to say, and if he has to convince himself that he's not on a diet, good for him. A healthy diet isn't meant to be an inconvenience. Now go pretend to know what you're talking about somewhere else.

SSjunk...we all understand both aspects. Are you really that dense.
This really comes down to diet being used as a verb or a noun.
I still think in this case the example should only be used as a motivator. Because it is infact a changed diet, and/or dieting. Even if SSJunk refuses to recognize that point.

Actually both good and bad dieting can be used either way. I believe what you are wanting to say is the difference between the word being used as a blanket statement and/or slang. The discrepancy lies with jdgregory84 believing the OP doesn't know the difference when no indication as such has been indicated and seems to have tried to run away with it.Originally posted by Ruffdaddy View PostThis really comes down to diet being used as a verb or a noun.

Fad diets are different, but still fit the stereotypical mold of 'dieting'. 'Dieting' and 'lifestyle change' are two entirely different things.Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostWhich is exactly what he's doing. He's controlling his calorie intake by eating healthy therefore creating a calorie deficit on a daily basis leading to weight loss. It seems that his definition of a diet is what most would refer to as a "fad" diet which are designed to see extreme results in very little time and usually result in a rollercoaster of weight loss and gain. The Op is now on a steady diet. A consistent diet that might take a bit more time to lose weight but is overall more healthy and easier to maintain.
This.Originally posted by Ruffdaddy View PostThis really comes down to diet being used as a verb or a noun.
The DIET (noun) is restructured, but does not constitute traditional DIETING (verb). Dieting is percieved as a tool to reach a target weight/or loss in weight. A true lifetyle change is no longer "dieting"... it's a diet like anything else (everyone has a diet) but is not dieting.Originally posted by Ruffdaddy View PostI still think in this case the example should only be used as a motivator. I liken 'dieting' to someone swearing off drinking for a month... there's no intention to actually change yourself for the long run, only for a specific short-term gain.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. No, I said exactly what I wanted to say...they have different meanings when it comes to noun or verb. And that in a literal aspect of things, the OP described a diet. Diets in my book should be lifestyle changes. I could say that I've been on a diet for the past 10 years of my life because I changed what I eat and constantly monitor it. If the op DIDNT ONLY MENTION CHANGING DIET, it would be a lifestyle change. If he mentioned exercise, or walking, or praying, or ANYTHING OTHER THAN CHANGING WHAT HE ATE...it would be a lifestyle change.Originally posted by SS Junk View PostActually both good and bad dieting can be used either way. Of course they do, however what you don't understand is you diet and become a fatass it's the same thing as dieting and becoming fit. If you are fit and change your diet and become a fatass, it's the same thing as being a fatass, changing your diet and becoming fit. It's just that simple.Originally posted by Ruffdaddy View PostNo, I said exactly what I wanted to say...they have different meanings when it comes to noun or verb.

Good job, man! Not sure what your wife currently cooks, but I highly recommend the Eat Clean cook books, same publisher as Oxygen (yes its a girls mag) but I have yet to make one thing from those cook books Dville_gt doesnt love.
Also a helpful tidbit, myofusion protein powder is the best. You can make a cake with it for PWO that is to die for. Every microwave will be a little different, but my recipe works best with 1 scoop myo chocolate, 1tsp egg white, pinch of baking soda and some stevia or other sweetener, 1/3 cup of water. I heat in a ceramic bowl for 45-60 seconds and it is literally cake.

Hello everyone thanks for your support . and let me apologize for any misinterpretation on my part when i say diet. i will give you some more details and try to clarify my meaning.
first off let me say that i am now down from 330 lbs to 257 lbs.
now to give you a little background, when i say that I'm not on a diet it's because i have been on yo yo diets for several years carb diets, fat diets, soup diets, taking whatever the new fat burner was, etc. hell i was to the point that i was only eating 1 time a day and had given up on diets because i would lose a few pounds and then boom gain it back double.
Now one day (after my wife let me know in so many words that i was fat) i just decided that i was going to eat more times a day and try to get my metabolism moving, and it started working just eating more times a day 6 to be exact and i started losing weight (hence the reason that i say stop dieting, Just by eating more times a day which equaled more food and i was losing pounds) don't see that as a diet eat more and lose weight i was shocked.
OK so now i was losing weight and decided why not eat more healthy food and try to get into shape at the same so i started eating lots of vegetables and dropping bread and fried foods from my menu (not to lose weight but to try to get into better shape because i was already losing the pounds from eating more)
And yes to let you know i have now started walking recently and am up to 2 miles at a time without getting tired(probably need to increase it but i find walking really boring) and am in the process or looking for some good exercises to start doing.
so thanks again for all the support and feel free to leave good recipes and any good exercises that will help with muscle tone etc...
