So I left the Crossfit gym because of scheduling conflicts and am now doing my Crossfit workouts at 24Hr Fitness....WOW...the looks I get. It's fucking annoying right now, but hopefully I'll get over it and just not care. I can't go back to working out like a jabroni.

Trust me...you annoy those of us doing real workouts infinitely more than we annoy youOriginally posted by jdgregory84 View PostSo I left the Crossfit gym because of scheduling conflicts and am now doing my Crossfit workouts at 24Hr Fitness....WOW...the looks I get. I'll agree with you there. Luckily the box I was at was super small when I joined and the coach was really good at working with me 1 on 1 with oly lifts. At the one comp I went to I did see a lot of ugly lifting though. That being said...don't knock it till you try it!Originally posted by Ruffdaddy View PostYeah with form and shit."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

We get a lot of "Globo-gymers" and collegiate athletes who's form on movements, particularly squat and deadlift, are way off. Not even getting into the Oly lifts. I'm
Sure there are meatheads with good technique, and Boxes with poor coaching and bad technique, but I'll tell you right now, that at my box we constantly harp on proper form. I'll stop someone in the middle of a wod and busy their weight down if they can't handle the movement.

Good to hear. I would usually go to the gym early to watch the class before mine and help as much as I could with people lifting. Lifts, IMO are the funnest thing about crossfit. Hitting a new PR is one of the best feelings ever.Originally posted by Danny46 View PostWe get a lot of "Globo-gymers" and collegiate athletes who's form on movements, particularly squat and deadlift, are way off. Same thing for me, except the schedule conflict was the stinken CrossFit gym closed!Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostSo I left the Crossfit gym because of scheduling conflicts and am now doing my Crossfit workouts at 24Hr Fitness....WOW...the looks I get. But, thanks to Don (DonSVO) I joined Metro Flex tonight. They will be getting a CrossFit affiliate license soon, so I may join there CrossFit classes later. Right now tho, just concentrating on lifting and NOT loosing weight!

It's amazing how EVERYONE that posts about their box is always the exception and how they stress form vs. everyone else.Originally posted by Danny46 View PostWe get a lot of "Globo-gymers" and collegiate athletes who's form on movements, particularly squat and deadlift, are way off. Box?Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
