  • New computer Build... help

Ok, so Im looking to build a new rig. I surf and play COD blackops and soon BF3. I currently run a Dell XPS 420. Looking to go with the following:

    New case
    Motherboard
    CPU
    Memory
    SSD

I currently have the following upgrades in my dell now that will be carried over to the new one:

    650w power supply (Antec)
    EVGA Nvidia GTX 470

    Budget is $1200

    GO!

I'd personally go with the 570. A nice little die shrink and people call it "fermi done right". Its the card I have, and it will eat alive any game out there for a good while. I don't know about the 470, but the 480 fermi's are supposed to run too hot. If you get a 5 series card, its going to be less heat due to the chip shrink. Unless you just really want a new case, I'd save the money on the case. Also the SSD. The only performance you will see from a SSD is going to be load times. It won't affect actual gaming performance once you are playing. Just get a fast HDD like the western digital 640 black and save hundreds of dollars, and have more space as well.
