      You can't run chkdisk when the drive is in use, that's a given. If your PSU got zapped, it very well could have damaged your system in other ways. Your bluescreen is caused by Norton Antivirus - it's a big issue a lot of people have. Here's a tip - don't use Norton - it's just a giant pain in the ass to deal with. I use security essentials from microsoft - works great and it's totally free and doesn't bother you all to shit. I suggest looking into removing it's registry entries manually in safe mode, and possible suggest a format or a new drive and run this as a secondary to avoid it. My experience is norton registry errors are a motherfucker to repair.
