No MW3 thread

That's kinda how i'm feeling with BF3. It's either Rush or TDM. everything else is horrible if you have sucky team. Then again maybe because i don't really play with any of my friends who are pretty good.

Yeah the game is best suited to play with competent squad members.

i played the first modern warfare for a looong time, never got into world at war. played a little bit of mw2 and really liked it but didn't have internet so didn't buy it. i did buy black ops from a friend for cheap and it's cool but i still prefer the modern warfare series. never played any other online games so i don't have much experience. i did like the trailer for bf3, but since i know i already like the MW series i will most likely pick it up before bf3

Got MW3 pre-ordered, and will be at Gamestop at midnight to pick it up. I love the CoD games. Black Ops wasn't quite as good as the MW series, so i'm excited to get back to MW. As far as them just updating the same system of play, it's because that's the type of play that CoD fans want. Why change the way you play the game when that's what got you to where you are in the first place.

the biggest complaint I get from people I used to play COD with is "It just gets old." I contribute this to them using the same engine since 2005.

The as of yet unreleased MW3 still runs on a Quake III based engine. As with most id licensed engines, they get periodic feature updates. I have made tons of games based on the Q3 engine - staying with it is very appealing because of how solid/easy the SDK is to work with. Also, it's quite optimized after all these years, and has a very good FPS count on the aging console platforms - which is why I believe they still use it. With IW4 they went with a texture streaming system as expected, to maintain their frame rate goal.

Yes, BF3, where you can hit someone across the map with a sniper, then they turn around a kill you with an assault rifle.

i am a fan of the COD seriese. that being said; i have killed many people across the maps with pistols in COD MW2 and Black Ops.

i don't use second chance. i just like to run around with the acog python and hit snipers with it. lol.

I've seen some people that are pretty damn good with the ACOG Python, but I could never get the hang of it. It's just too damn touchy. If i'm gunna use a scope I like the 3 round burst M16 with an ACOG. I've been known to piss off some fuckers with the M16.

A buddy picked it up and beat the campaign on normal in 5 hours. He said it was cool.
