Charter is upping their speeds..

It looks like Charter is greatly increasing their download speeds. The Ultra service is now 100Mbps while the Plus service is 30Mbps.

Unfortunately the max upload speed is 5Mbps, which is still pretty decent for most people.

I rebooted my router and the best speed test I could muster was 30.56Mbps. I've already got a DOCSIS 3.0 router. I think I'll give them a call this week and see if they've got the Ultra service available in Lake Dallas. The press release says they have it on in 95% of their market area.

January 3rd FiOS said they'd be up and running in two weeks in our neighborhood and they'd call us to schedule an install appointment. Glad we didn't wait for them, but would switch immediately if they installed over here.

Man, I would kill for FIOS. Lake Dallas gave Charter a franchise a long time ago. Tiny little Shady Shores has FIOS while it takes forever for Charter or CenturyLink (worthless bastards) to upgrade anything.
