I have a 939 socket ADA3800. where can I take it to see if it works?

Its only a 2ghz processor and its outdated. Why would you spend the resources to build a computer around it when you could probably buy a considerably faster processor/mobo combo that can use more RAM for the same amount of $$$?

          I never had a 64 bit cpu before, it's a 3800 so I think it's a 2.5

you are correct about it being too much to spend anything on . I've been reading up on 64bit cpu's. Can't they map over 4 gig ram? the fastest computer I have is a p4 3.2. But, I maintain 4 here at home and I've built computers for myself since 88. I just wanted to learn something new on the cheap. I already had the cpu and could get a mb to fit it for about 20.00 off ebay. I have lots of older parts, but i want to play with building something newer than a p4 or celeron.

Either buy a compete used rig for cheap that is dual core or could look at the microcenter cpu/board bundles

$89 for an amd quad with board then would use the cheap ddr3
