Best Android VPN and RDP apps

I can get all of my Crapple products to work well with Junos Pulse and Pocket Cloud, but a coworker is having issues getting his Element that runs Android to work. Would those of you with Android knowledge point me to the apps that you've found to work best?

I've had no need for vpn, but I use Team Viewer for remote desktop support from my phone.

Saved and Texan by the Grace of God, Redneck by choice.

Cisco anyconnect is what I use for vpn and I use Remote Desktop Client Xtralogic, Inc. for remote desktop needs.
