I heard about this last night. You can run movies and video as background on your television and continue doing other things on your phone, tablet, etc.. So I take it that it works way better than any hdmi connection for media devices?

on the go, you can't take that tv with you everywhere you go.

So its for media devices only? I've been holding off on buying the cable for me note 2 to hook up to the TV. This is way cheaper.

Ya I know LOL! I guess the thing about this is that it's cheap and it's something I can afford to play with and sell or give it away later.

Ya it's better to an extent in that it's wireless and very portable. It wouldn't do everything that you could do by tethering a laptop to a TV but I like the fact that it's small and I could use it off of my phone and tablet.

Exactly! I used to have a Western Digital Media Player but it wasn't wireless so whenever I go to my girlfriends house I couldn't stream Netflix to it because it was to far for a wired connection.

Just talked to a buddy of mine who works at Best Buy and he sold they are completely sold out in the area.

Chromecast will automatically update to work with a growing number of apps.

True, it can stream anything through Chrome and from what I read it will do HBO and Hulu. Doing app and games would probably drive the cost up.
