Im in Dallas today. Staying by DFW airport tonight.

I'm driving through dfw airport after training today. If I wasn't in my work car, I'd stop to help you out.

I'm over in Grapevine, I'm off work now. I did some research, z4 is the best way to go with 2.2 on the droidx apparently. It's just an .apk file(app) that you install and use that to root your phone. You can download an app called root explorer, it's not free, but it works better than anything else I've used. All you have to do is download the .apk file on your phone, and move it to the system/app folder on your phone, go to your apps, run the app and it should be done. If you want to meet up I can try to do it for you, just let me know.

Just click that link while on your phone and the download will start.

Already got adfree (takes away ads on apps) put on there and I'm putting on wireless tether, a new keyboard, and a few other things.

Did you bootstrap it so he would have clockwork recovery?

I just got the droid x after having a rooted org. droid for over a year.

If you want to get rid of Blur the best rom i have found is Liberty.
The droid x battery lasts way longer without Moto Blur!
                              92 Undercover SSP Coupe.

I'm on the liberty rom now but I think my battery did better with gummyjar.
