  • New Motherboard ?

Why would new Z87 chipset have two PCI-e 3.0 x 16, when you look and it can only do dual video cards at x 8? Just checking to see if I am missing something.

    Slots - 2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE1/PCIE3: single at x16 (PCIE1); dual at x8 (PCIE1) / x8 (PCIE3))
    - 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (PCIE4: x4 mode)
    - 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot
    - Supports AMD Quad CrossFireX™, 3-Way CrossFireX™ and CrossFireX™
    - Supports NVIDIA® Quad SLI™ and SLI™

That's a question best suited for Intel since it's a limitation of the cpu itself.

Thanks, I finally used the correct words on Google to see the answer. Current cards cannot "fully saturate" 3.0 x16 yet anyways so its kinda irrelevant. PLUS you do need an additional controller chip, because intel/amd chips cant handle it.
