TV as monitor

Any solution for using a television in another room as a computer monitor? I'm wanting to play an RC simulator on my desktop PC, but use the TV in the living room as the monitor. Short of running a 30-40ft USB and S-video cable between the two is there a better way? I have an HTPC right at the TV and both the PCs are connected to a home network along with the TV itself. The HTPC doesn't have enough juice to run the simulator.

What game? Does the game support an xbox 360 controller?

If its on steam, install steam on the htpc and enable beta upgrades and stream the game to that pc from your main tv.

Tv's don't have a very high pixel density, so that may be an issue with text for you.

I assume the "TV" and PC both have VGA connections?
What is the make/model of the "TV"?
What is the PC putting out for resolution?

which uses a usb connected 2 stick controller. The desktop is nothing fancy. It has a Gforce 9400gt video card. All I normally do with it is internets & videos/pictures.

run a long VGA cable or get a DVI to HDMI cable. I assume you have other speakers or do you need to play audio through the TV as well?

I do it, it works fine just don't use hdmi it will look like shit. I used my VGA connection and it looks like a computer screen, this was with a 32" vizio.

My 55" hisense I got for free looked okay with the hdmi.
