$18/mos for an Arris 2470- what can I buy outright that's better?

Yes, $18.32/mos to be exact in addition to charging me for wireless internet. My provider is Grande Communications. Trying to find something to buy outright vs. paying them $20 a month to rent a piece of their equipment. Also charging me $14/mos for the Tivo mini box, will be looking into buying one of those next.

They should allow you to get a regular cable modem then you can buy any router you want. pretty much anything is better than cable provided ones.

What would you buy if it were you? Only quirk about it is it has to be able to communicate to our Tivo boxes.
