Is this possible? I have a 500GB external Hard Drive that I use, and was wondering if a password can be added on for security. Will I need a 3rd party software to add to it? Pros / Cons?

I would say just some files, like personal and business taxes, home docs, etc. I have customer pics of their vehicles, estimates, which that i'm not too worried about. Just concerned about personal/business..Originally posted by abecx View PostAre you wanting to encrypt the entire drive or just certain files?

Also make note that if you encrypt these files with BitLocker one one computer, and you want to read them on another computer, you are not going to be able to do so. They'll only be able to be viewed if you plug that drive into the original computer that did the encrypting, or if you carry around the however-long BitLocker key written down so you can enter it when you want to view the files.Originally posted by sosoe View PostIts been purchased ill go with bitlocker..

 Thanks!!
